Black Students Among Inventors of Electric Car

My hat is tipped off to our young Black geniuses today. A group of high school students at De LaSalle High School in Kansas City, Miss. have taken part in a project that will go into history books.
When compared with the amount of energy needed to run a regular car powered by gasoline, the electric car built by the De LaSalle students is equal to 452 miles per gallon!

One student, Kevin Duley (pictured above), had the typical dream of becoming a professional basketball player, but the invention changed his mind. He now wants to be a scientist.

The great thing about this story is that is emphasizes the importance of extra-curricular activities in the schools. These students’ futures depend on these programs, especially in the Black community.

Our politicians need to stop trippin out and get it together. They keep taking money out of the school and putting em over seas and in our prisons. If we had it right, prison populations wouldn’t be so high and we’d have more kids going to school instead of jail. But who am I. Just a blogger.

i’m currently working on a project that generates dc power and runs under it’s own power. the end product will be inverted dc to ac power thus making “usable” electricity. i am only an amature/tinkerer and have come to find i don’t know as much as i’d like to in this area. My question is that if you were to use a voltage stablizer, would the electricity i’m producing be suitable for high end electronics? i understand that there are different sine waves and patterns in which electricity is conducted…(i basically need to make sure the squares will fit in the round holes?) lol

I’m a homeowner and our average monthly bill is around $125 give or take $25. I’d love to install a wind turbine if it would work efficiently and cut our costs. I have no clue and would like to avoid days of research and defer to a professional if it is viable cost wise to try this project. I know there may be green grants or special financing available but again have no clue about total costs, pay back venues such as years to return investment and options for even more then one turbine. We are in a bit of a forced wind tunnel because of wall and home placement so we have abundant resources. Any heads up information would be very helpful.

  22. It’s a fair point to use spam-protection and comment-anti-spam systems like Akismet. If your blog is a personal thing then it’s only right that our comments have personality to them. After all, personallity is what makes reading blogs interesting. Keep posting and deleting bad comment that are just negative or doesn’t add to the conversation!
