Terrell Owens,Donovan McNabb

One-time Philadelphia Eagles teammates Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens are back together again for an upcoming basketball-themed episode of Spike TV’s reality series “Pros vs. Joes.” The quarreling quarterback and wide receiver will be featured on an episode that pits former NBA stars against NFL players that played college basketball. McNabb (Syracuse), Owens (Tennessee-Chattanooga) and Antonio Gates (Kent St.) will face Hakeem Olajuwon, Kenny Smith and Rick Fox. T.O. helped McNabb and the Philadelphia Eagles reach the Super Bowl in 2004, but a feud ended their relationship. Shortly afterward, Owens demanded a new contract, criticized management and ripped McNabb before he was ultimately cut midway through the ‘05 season. Owens is a free agent after spending last year with Buffalo. He caught 55 passes for 829 yards and five touchdowns in his only season with the Bills. Owens played three seasons with Dallas after he was released by Philadelphia. McNabb has been the subject of trade rumors since the Eagles lost to the Cowboys in the first round of the playoffs. He’s led Philadelphia to five NFC championship games and one Super Bowl in 11 seasons.

Chris Rock, Gabby Sidibe

Chris Rock Gets Handsy with Gabby Sidibe. Chris Rock incurred the wrath of Gabourey Sidibe’s father Thursday when he took liberties with the actress’ backside during the third annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood event. The “Precious” star, who is nominated for a Best Actress Oscar at Sunday’s Academy Awards, got a shock when Rock gave her the two-handed booty grab as she made her way to the stage. The actress laughed and brushed it off with a playful slap, but Gabby’s daddy wasn’t so forgiving. She tells ET Online, “As I go up to get my award in a room where my dad is, because he’s one of my dates, Chris Rock grabbed my butt with both of his hands – and then I slapped him back. I didn’t think too much of it at all, but my dad was super p**sed.” As for Rock copping a feel at her expense, Sidibe quips, “Some dudes gotta have it – it’s my own fault for being too damn fine.”

Naomi Campbell

No charges for Naomi Campbell in Driver Incident. It wasn’t a cab driver but rather a “chauffeur” who accused the supermodel of beating him from the back seat of a luxury SUV before she hopped out and ran off. The Associated Press reports that police consulted with the Manhattan district attorney’s office and issued a harassment report against the tempermental catwalk queen, which doesn’t carry any penalty. Arrests are unlikely in the case, authorities said. Earlier Tuesday, the driver – who had been hired to drive Campbell around New York City – told police she hit him from behind and his head struck the steering wheel of the black Cadillac Escalade, causing bruising under his right eye. He pulled over in midtown Manhattan and got out to speak to a traffic agent, who alerted police. The chauffeur, who also drives Campbell’s boyfriend, decided not to pursue the matter criminally. It’s unclear if he would pursue it in civil court. Campbell was not at the scene when officers arrived, police said. She did not speak to police, but her assistant went to the station house where the driver gave his account. A spokesman for Campbell, who has previously pleaded guilty to assaulting people hired to work for her, said she would cooperate with police. “There shouldn’t be a rush to judgment,” spokesman Jeff Raymond said. “Naomi will cooperate voluntarily, and there is more to the story than meets the eye.” The 27-year-old driver, apparently hired just for the day, told police he picked Campbell up at a Manhattan hotel and was taking her to Astoria Studios, a TV and film studio complex in Queens, New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne said.

America’s Most Wanted

‘America’s Most Wanted’ Taps Obama For 1000th Broadcast. President Barack Obama will make an appearance on the 1,000th episode of the long-running criminal-profile series “America’s Most Wanted,” airing Saturday at 9 p.m. EST on Fox. During the White House interview, host John Walsh talks with the Commander In Chief about the milestone episode, the show’s impact over its 22 years and his administration’s anti-crime initiatives, including an emphasis on white-collar crime. Obama also promises to do everything in his power to ensure that Congress fully funds The Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 – named after Walsh’s six-year-old son who was abducted and murdered in 1981. The act established the National Sex Offender Registry. According to Fox, “America’s Most Wanted” has helped capture more than 1,100 fugitives to date and reunited 43 missing children with their families.

Black History Month 2010

Three Teachers Mock Black History Month with Rodman, RuPaul and O.J. Black History Month has truly come to a close…and with what three white male teachers would call a “bang.” The school, which is 90% latino, was putting on a Black History Month parade where the children would carry pictures of famous African Americans. Well the bang those teachers were trying to make was in the form of Dennis Rodman (basketball player gone wild), RuPaul (drag queen of all drag queens), and O.J. Simpson (football player done lost his damn mind…acquitted of murdering his wife and her friend, yet still manages to land in jail for armed robbery). It appears that the teachers little jokey joke blew up in their faces. But, the only explosion was their jobs going up in flames. According to the Associated Press, the teachers have been removed from the classroom. But if the NAACP’s Los Angeles chapter president, Leon Jenkins, has anything to say about it, they will be fired. It all happened Friday at Wadsworth Avenue Elementary School in South Los Angeles. One of the parents, Sharon Tinson, told AP she was shocked to see O.J., but she “just laughed.” She has two daughters that attend the school. She also said, “Simpson, like Rodman, was a great athlete before falling from grace. RuPaul simply has an alternative lifestyle, she added.

Herbie Hancock

Herbie Hancock Celebration Part of NYC Jazz Festival. Herbie Hancock will be honored at a belated 70th birthday party at Carnegie Hall this spring that will double as the revival of a major summer jazz festival in the Big Apple. The pianist, who turns 70 on April 12, will be joined by comedian Bill Cosby, saxophonist Joe Lovano, trumpeter Terence Blanchard, and saxophonist Wayne Shorter, Hancock’s bandmate in Miles Davis’ famed 1960s quintet, with more guests to be announced. The June 24 concert, “Herbie Hancock, Seven Decades: The Birthday Celebration,” will benefit The Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz. “That will be a very exciting night — perhaps one of the unique nights in the history of the festival with a lot of people coming just to salute Herbie,” the festival’s producer, George Wein, told the Associated Press Friday. The concert will be followed by a festival first — an old-time midnight jam session paying tribute to Hancock — at the City Winery nightclub. The CareFusion Jazz Festival will run from June 17 to 26 with some 45 concerts at 20 venues, including concert halls, parks, museums and libraries in four boroughs. Carnegie Hall will be the site of three other high-profile concerts featuring trumpeter Chris Botti, Brazilian bossa nova maestro Joao Gilberto, and the trio of pianist Keith Jarrett, bassist Gary Peacock and drummer Jack DeJohnette. There will also be several free outdoor concerts, with Latin jazz star Eddie Palmieri performing in a Bronx park and pianist McCoy Tyner’s quartet featuring saxophonist Ravi Coltrane and the Stanley Clarke Band with Japanese pianist Hiromi playing at Central Park’s SummerStage. The festival is paying the musicians and letting the clubs collect the gate, asking only that ticket prices be kept at a recession-friendly $15 for most events. “It’s helping the clubs and the musicians,” said Wein. “Its our own stimulus program.”

Whitney Houston – “SIT DOWN”!

Whitney Houston has suffered another setback in her ongoing tour of Australia — fans walked out of her show in Sydney on Wednesday night after the singer’s voice began to fail.

The “I Will Always Love You” hit maker was previously accused of putting on a lackluster performance in Brisbane on Monday, reportedly coughing through her set and taking breaks to catch her breath.

Promoters behind the concert defended Houston’s performance, and brushed off fears the star is in poor health.

But concerns for the singer were raised again on Wednesday following her show at the Acer Arena.

One fan, Shane Norquay, tells the paper, “Some of it’s been beautiful and some it is just horrible. It feels like she’s trying to be herself but it’s not working.”

Bernadette Latta, whose son bought her the tickets as a Christmas gift, adds, “It’s terrible. I have never walked out before a concert finished but that was just terrible. I’ll be suggesting my son tries to get a refund.”

Snoop Dog vs U.K. (not)

Snoop Dogg Continues to Fight UK Ban. A U.K. Asylum and Immigration Tribunal is expected to rule today on whether its ban on Snoop Dogg’s entry into the country is really necessary. The rapper—real name Calvin Broadus— has been assigned a special no-fly status by the UK which allows it to deny entry based on questions of character. This all started with the 2006 Heathrow Airport incident that sparked when some members of his 30-strong entourage were not allowed into the British Airways first-class lounge during a layover. After a heated argument and mini-scuffle with police ensued, Snoop was detained and later released with a warning for what British authorities said, and he admitted, was the use of “insulting words.” But the rap star has been barred from setting foot in the U.K. ever since.

CBS

CBS Defends Muting Lil Wayne, Em and Drake at Grammys. CBS has defended its decision to mute the mess out of Lil Wayne, Drake and Eminem’s rap performance at the end of Sunday’s Grammy Awards telecast, even though witnesses say the artists were doing a good job of censoring themselves “We have great respect for artists’ creative freedom, but there are certain things you can’t say, or sing, on television,” CBS spokesman Chris Ender told the Associated Press. The Los Angeles Times counted “at least 10 times” that the mute button was pushed during their performances of “Drop the World” and “Forever”* with Travis Barker and rock guitarists. Grammy executive producer Ken Ehrlich told the newspaper that he himself played no part in hitting the button. The network, he said, has “a responsibility to standards and we have a responsibility to represent music of the moment … and we can’t do a show that represents everything that is out there without this being part of it.” On its “Vulture” blog, New York magazine commented “It’s all kind of bizarre Why were whole lines being cut to avoid one profanity? Why was the music cut out along with the [singers]?
