The Chair of the Sumter South Carolina Tea Party posted — and then quickly pulled — a post on her Facebook page earlier this month that joked about throwing the Obamas out of a helicopter, reports TalkingPointsMemo.com. Shery Lanford Smith posted the joke on her Facebook page on August 11th. The page has since gone “private.” In the joke, the Obamas are on a helicopter talking about how they could make people happy if they threw money out the window. The pilot says: “I could throw both of them out of the window and make 256 million people very happy!” Smith added: “If you’re one of 256 million, PASS IT ON.” Smith reportedly pulled the joke after the Sumter Item contacted her about it.
“It’s just a joke,” she told the Item. “I had no idea it would be an issue.” The Sumter SC Tea Party’s page is now also defunct

Cenk Uygur, host of “MSNBC Live” since January, will be leaving MSNBC after declining a shift to another timeslot, reports the AP.
“We have decided to make a change at 6 p.m.,” an MSNBC spokesperson said. “It’s unfortunate that Cenk has declined our offer to have him develop and host a program for another timeslot.”
Ever since Keith Olbermann left and MSNBC had to reshuffle its primetime lineup, Uygur had been in the 6 p.m. slot. There have been reports Al Sharpton will be replacing him — hence the request to shift slots — but MSNBC has yet to confirm such a move.
Uygur is expected to hold a press conference later today.
Can Reverend Al Sharpton keep his daughter away from her violent boyfriend? Last week, 23-year old Dominique Sharpton suffered a busted lip after her boyfriend punched her in the mouth, and threw her out of a car. The boyfriend in question is 23-year old Latrelle Peeks. He’s 6’7 and 250 pounds. His mother says it was just a scuffle, and people are only talking about it because Reverend Al Sharpton’s daughter is involved. The NYPD wants her to press charges, but Dominique Sharpton won’t cooperate. Maybe Reverend Al can talk some sense into her. Violence against women is not cool. Never has never will be.
