1 dead, 4 wounded in Ohio high school shooting

A teenager described as an outcast at his suburban Cleveland high school opened fire in the cafeteria Monday, killing one student and wounding four others before he was chased from the building by a teacher and captured a short distance away, authorities said.

A student who saw the attack up close said it appeared that the gunman targeted a group of students sitting at a cafeteria table and that the one who was killed was trying to duck under the table.

Panicked students ran screaming through the halls after gunfire broke out at the start of the school day at 1,100-student Chardon High in this town of 5,100 people 30 miles from Cleveland. Teachers locked down their classrooms as they had been trained to do during drills, and students took cover as they waited for the all-clear.

One teacher was said to have dragged a wounded student into his classroom for protection. Another chased the gunman out of the building, police said.

The suspect, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, was arrested near his car a half-mile away, the FBI said. He was not immediately charged.

FBI officials would not comment on a motive for the attack. And Police Chief Tim McKenna said authorities “have a lot of homework to do yet” in their investigation. But 15-year-old Danny Komertz, who witnessed the shooting, said the gunman was known as an outcast who had apparently been bullied.

“I looked up and this kid was pointing a gun about 10 feet away from me to a group of four kids sitting at a table,” Komertz said. He said the gunman fired two shots quickly, and students scrambled for safety. One of them was “trying to get underneath the table, trying to hide, protecting his face.”

Other students disagreed that the student was a victim of bullying or an outcast, saying he was just quiet.

“Even though he was quiet, he still had friends,” said Tyler Lillash, 16. “He was not bullied.”

Long before official word came of the attack, parents learned of the bloodshed from students via text message and cellphone and thronged the streets around the school, anxiously awaiting word on their children.

Two of the wounded were listed in critical condition, and another was in serious condition.

The slain student, Daniel Parmertor, was an aspiring computer repairman who was shot while waiting for the bus for his daily 15-minute ride to a vocational center. His teacher at the Auburn Career School had no idea why Parmertor, “a very good young man, very quiet,” had been targeted, said Auburn superintendent Maggie Lynch.

“We are shocked by this senseless tragedy,” his family said in a statement. “Danny was a bright young boy who had a bright future ahead of him.”

Officers investigating the shooting blocked off a road in a heavily wooded area several miles from the school. Federal agents patrolled the muddy driveway leading to several spacious homes and ponds, while other officers walked a snowy hillside. A police dog was brought in. It wasn’t clear what they were looking for.

FORECAST 2012 – Part 2

Predictions that I see for the next 12 months or after.

1.  This year there will be a big explosion at the corner of a building, seem like a financial institution.  This will be in-house our people will do this.  Not terrorist from the outside.  Death toll 9-11 people.  This takes place in New York or someplace very close by.

WEATHER –

1.  Somewhere on this planet a “Volcano” will explode and be heard around the world.  Yes it will be so intense, it will speed up the axes once again.  It will remind scientist of the volcano “Krakatoa” from the past.

2.  There will be flooding in 2012, in lots of areas across the nation, more than usual predictions. There is one that stands out and the catalyst will be the Mississippi River.  We have never experience anything like this as a nation.

3.  Alaska will experience a very strong 7.5 to 8 earthquake.  The funny thing is, it will be man-made by Black Ops, not from the earth naturally.  Also a lot of UFO testing go on in this same area or location of earthquakes.  Earthquakes this year to be remembered and discussed, talked about are:  Japan, Chile, Singapore (could be catastrophic).

TECHNOLOGY -

1.   Good news!  I believe this year you will be able to communicate with your 5×7 tablet as a phone communicator, and webcam.  In other words the new phone with it all in one.

2.   Strides in the field of  Cancer (skin), Bionic (parts more mobile, bendable, breathable), Stem Cell  (regenerating organs), Brain Modification (healing mental disease with electrode nanos, in the sleeping state).

POLITICS –

1.   President Barack Obama will get a 2nd term.

2.   Pharmaceutical companies will finally get their dues.  They have been ripping the American consumer off for years, even with Generic brands.  Under the table, bribes, donations to charities all in the name of some good or bad doctor to make money.  Well this year a whistle-blower with defining proof what is really going, will have their story finally told, even to the expense of death.  There is also a few Congressmen employed in this.

3.   In less than 10 years the Federal Reserve will no longer exist, which is a good thing.  Run by the rich and famous.  Was set up by millionaires.

4.   Look for U.S. Senators to come up missing in 2012, or to come up dead.  Either through assassination, poisoning, vehicle accident, drowning, it going to happen.

ENTERTAINMENT –

Look for actors/actresses to get paid less for their jobs.  WHY? you say, lol because of Comcast, Infinity, Dish, Direct etc. i.e.  By the time you go to the theatre and spend about $80.00.  You can sit at home in the comfort of your Media Room, Living Room, Family Room.  Food is right there and drinks.  Doesn’t matter how small or large the crowd, you only pay once price for the movie and that’s it!  There is already a program of $60 in place to watch (opening day, block busters, first run)  movies in the comfort of your home then to go to the theatre.  Most cable or dish companies charge $4.99 to $9.99 for first time release.  Which states movie theaters will become a thing of the past very soon.   Remember the old “drive in theaters”.

Updated 8:40 p.m. ET: In response to criticism about the pardons, former Gov. Haley Barbour released a statement from his office Wednesday evening that said 189 of the 215 people pardoned were already out of prison.

“My decision about clemency was based upon the recommendation of the Parole Board in more than 90 percent of the cases,” the statement said.

The statement, reported by WTVA of Tupelo, went on to say 13 of the 26 inmates released from custody cost the state a lot of money due to their medical expenses and can be returned to custody if they commit another crime.

Updated 8 p.m. ET:  Mississippi Circuit Judge Tomie Green has temporarily blocked the release of 21 inmates who’d been given pardons or medical release by Republican Haley Barbour in one of his final acts as governor.

Original story

JACKSON, Miss. – The state attorney general on Wednesday moved to block the release of some inmates pardoned by Gov. Haley Barbour in his last days in office, claiming the move may have violated the state Constitution.

Attorney General Jim Hood said the law requires a legal notice of plans to pardon to be published 30 days prior to the action. He said his office couldn’t find such a record.

“Unfortunately our research has revealed that Gov. Barbour violated the Constitution,” Hood told The Clarion-Ledger. “We’re seeking to stop the release of any prisoners.”

Hood told WLBT-TV in Jackson, Miss. that he planned to file an injunction at Hinds County Circuit.

Where did Piss Poor come from?

Where did Piss Poor come from?

Interesting History,
They used to use urine to tan animal skins, so families used to all pee in a pot and then once a day it was taken and sold to the tannery…….. if you had to do this to survive you were “Piss Poor.”

But worse than that were the really poor folk who couldn’t even afford to buy a pot……. they “didn’t have a pot to piss in” and were the lowest of the low.

The next time you are washing your hands and complain because the water temperature isn’t just how you like it, think about how things used to be. Here are some facts about the 1500s:

Most people got married in June because they took their yearly bath in May, and they still smelled pretty good by June. However, since they were starting to smell…….

Brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odor. Hence the custom today of carrying a bouquet when getting married.

Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children. Last of all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose someone in it… Hence the saying, “Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water!”

Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled high, with no wood underneath.. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the roof. When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and fall off the roof…. Hence the saying “It’s raining cats and dogs.”

There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house. This posed a real problem in the bedroom where bugs and other droppings could mess up your nice clean bed. Hence, a bed with big posts and a sheet hung over the top afforded some protection. That’s how canopy beds came into existence.

The floor was dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than dirt. Hence the saying, “Dirt poor.” The wealthy had slate floors that would get slippery in the winter when wet, so they spread thresh (straw) on floor to help keep their footing. As the winter wore on, they added more thresh until, when you opened the door, it would all start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the entrance-way. Hence: a thresh hold..
(Getting quite an education, aren’t you?)

In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen with a big kettle that always hung over the fire… Every day they lit the fire and added things to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables and did not get much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers in the pot to get cold overnight and then start over the next day. Sometimes stew had food in it that had been there for quite a while. Hence the rhyme: Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot nine days old. Sometimes they could obtain pork, which made them feel quite special. When visitors came over, they would hang up their bacon to show off. It was a sign of wealth that a man could, “bring home the bacon.” They would cut off a little to share with guests and would all sit around and chew the fat.

Those with money had plates made of pewter. Food with high acid content caused some of the lead to leach onto the food, causing lead poisoning death. This happened most often with tomatoes, so for the next 400 years or so, tomatoes were considered poisonous.

Bread was divided according to status. Workers got the burnt bottom of the loaf, the family got the middle, and guests got the top, or the upper crust.

Lead cups were used to drink ale or whiskey. The combination would sometimes knock the imbibers out for a couple of days. Someone walking along the road would take them for dead and prepare them for burial. They were laid out on the kitchen table for a couple of days and the family would gather around and eat and drink and wait and see if they would wake up. Hence the custom of holding a wake.

England is old and small and the local folks started running out of places to bury people. So they would dig up coffins and would take the bones to a bone-house, and reuse the grave. When reopening these coffins, 1 out of 25 coffins were found to have scratch marks on the inside and theyrealized they had been burying people alive. So they would tie a string on the wrist of the corpse, lead it through the coffin and up through the ground and tie it to a bell. Someone would have to sit out in the graveyard all night (the graveyard shift) to listen for the bell; thus, someone could be, saved by the bell or was considered a dead ringer.

And that’s the truth…….. Now, whoever said History was boring!!!

Sending Flowers to all my readers, saying Thanks!

Rapper Actor T.I. is back in jail. He was out for one day when Federal Officials put him back. T.I. was released early on good behavior and was supposed to be in a halfway house, but he left an Arkansas jail in a fancy tour bus. Even though prison officials took photos with him in front of the bus, he was still sent back to prison.
