A prostitution scandal surrounding a US Secret Service detail in Colombia widened on Sunday as an additional five US Army personnel were confined to their quarters.
A prostitution scandal surrounding a US Secret Service detail in Colombia widened yesterday (Sunday) as an additional five US Army personnel were confined to their quarters.
The five service members violated their curfew and may have been involved in inappropriate conduct, according to a statement released by the US military’s southern command.
Eleven secret service agents were being interviewed in Washington over the weekend after being sent home in disgrace from the historic city of Cartagena, where Barack Obama is trying to deepen US trade and security ties to Latin America at a major summit.
The embarrassment for America deepened further as those briefed on the investigation said that all 11 of the agents had taken women back to their rooms, as opposed to a single officer suggested in earlier reports.
The incident at the Hotel Caribe after a drunken night out that breached curfew rules occurred before President Obama landed in Colombia on Friday and did not involve any members of his personal protection squad. The incident has heaped diplomatic embarrassment on the US, threatening to overshadow Obama’s already troubled agenda at the Summit of the Americas which has been undermined by a boycott from Leftist leaders, including the anti-US president of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez.
“I had a breakfast meeting to discuss trade and drugs, but the only thing the other delegates wanted to talk about was the story of the agents and the hookers,” said one Latin American diplomat.
Jay Carney, the White House spokesman, said that the president had been informed of the incident, but refused to divulge his reaction, except to say that Obama had “full confidence” in the Secret Service’s ability to protect him.

‘Angry’ if Secret Service allegations true: Obama
US President Barack Obama, speaking for the first time about allegations that Secret Service agents hired prostitutes, said on Sunday that “of course I’ll be angry” if those accusations are proven true by an investigation.

The Republican party is distancing themselves from one of their own this morning as his mouth got ahead of his brain over the weekend. The Trayvon Martin case is steadily forging ahead all over the country as one of the republican presidential candidates rebukes the president’s heartfelt comments in support of the family last week.
After Newt Gingrich visited a radio station over the weekend and spoke out against President Obama, his campaign is pretty much dead in the water. Gingrich ran off at the mouth saying the President’s remarks were “disgraceful”:
“It’s not a question of who that young man looked like,” he said. “Any young American of any ethnic background should be safe, period. We should all be horrified, no matter what the ethnic background. Is the president suggesting that, if it had been a white who’d been shot, that would be OK, because it wouldn’t look like him? That’s just nonsense.”
Yeah, it is nonsense and you can exit left from the presidential campaign! The president’s adviser, David Plouffe spoke out against Gingrich saying HIS remarks were “reprehensible.” How ludicrous can a person be to translate the president’s words: “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon” into something racist? See where your mind went Newt? The president can never be the racist that you are! Stop thinking like a racist and maybe you’ll be able to benefit from the president’s words like the rest of us.
SIDEBAR: Newt sit the fuck down and shut the hell up!!!
Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is on a press tour giving her side of the testy exchange with President Obama where she was photo’d waving her finger in the Commander in Chief’s face on Wednesday afternoon after he landed in Arizona on a tour stop to support his State of the Union speech Tuesday night.
As reported earlier, the confrontation centered on Brewer’s newly released book – “Scorpions for Breakfast: My Fight Against Special Interests, Liberal Media, and Cynical Politicos to Secure the Border” – which details her conservative approach to dealing with the state’s illegal immigration challenges.
A review published in the Arizona Republic said that Brewer casts Obama as “condescending” and skewers him repeatedly. The newspaper said, “in the book she calls the president ‘patronizing’ and said ‘he lectured me.’”
RELATED: Video: Arizona’s Gov Brewer, President Obama and the Finger
“He didn’t feel that I had treated him cordially” in the book, Brewer told reporters Wednesday. “I said to him that I have all the respect in the world for the office of the president. The book is what the book is. I asked him if he read the book. He said he read the excerpt.”
“He brought up my book and he was a little tense,” Brewer said in an interview with KFYI radio.
“He said he read the excerpt and didn’t think I was very cordial. I said we’d have to agree to disagree. He was a little thin-skinned and tense, to say the least.”
So what about the finger in the prez’s face? Well, she says she’s always been expressive with her hands and didn’t mean any disrespect.
SIDEBAR: I’m calling for a NATIONAL PROTEST of Jan Brewer by, phone calls, direct mail, email, facebook, twitter, here & now. He is the President of the United States, whether you believe in him or not. Showing disrespect by behavior, actions and lies. This is not the first time she has pulled this. And she is not the only ELECTED OFFICIAL, that has done that. I guess her book is not selling well, so you up the cost with free publicty by embarassing yourself. At least President Obama had enough respect to walk away from your monkey azz, and let you stand there and look like a damn fool. Bytch please!
No one has been able to explain to me why young men…… and women serve in the U.S. Military for 20 years, risking their lives protecting freedom, and only get 50% of their pay. While Politicians hold their political positions in the safe confines of the capital, protected by these same men and women, and receive full pay retirement after serving one term. It just does not make any sense.
On Fox news they learned that the staffers of Congress family members are exempt from having to pay back student loans. This will get national attention if other news networks will broadcast it. When you add this to the below, just where will all of it stop?
35 States file lawsuit against the Federal Government
Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.
This will take less than thirty seconds to read. If you agree, please pass it on.
This is an idea that we should address.
For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform… in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn’t seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don’t care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.
If each person that receives this will post it on their wall, in three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message.. This is one proposal that really should be passed around.
Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: “Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ..”
Now, what are you going to do about it? Read and delete, or work for reform? Share on the wall of EVERY congressman, representative, governor, the white house!!!!! Pass it around!!! Make calls, send fax’s and email’s……………
Almost daily we see-read, and watch insulting false-incorrect spermicidal information flowing out of mouths of Republicans and the Fox News types. We send that info to each other and post the shocking lies in disbelief them – Republicans and the Fox News types that blatantly say what they say.
When also see the posted fact checks, such as who is really on welfare and who really the welfare president, Mr. George Bush was.
We know who really increased the debt, and increased taxes, three times more than any other president that would be Mr. Ronald Reagan. For the record Obama has raised it the least.
We know eight years of Bush policies all the way up to him leaving office in January of 2009 caused the loss of two million jobs. Please somebody tell Newt to stop saying Obama lost two millions jobs. Fact under Obama in 2009- 2010 only 300,000 jobs were lost, but it open to debate did Obama or did Bush residue cause those jobs to go away. Fact unemployment is back at 8% and going under from a high of 10% This is coming from a man who lost his job too, and still looking …hey in-box me if you need me…
Not many News service will call-out the lies the Republican machine will roll out, and they will say when caught in a lie … “Oh that’s not what I meant.”, but wait here is what we need to do … send facts to those conservative Republicans and Fox News types, on the fence swing voters and so called independents friends you might happen to have.
I know there is the worry you’ll end up debating someone who would rather eat his or her own boggers than submit to the facts. Well no you don’t have to, just send them the facts and then act like they do, ignore them. You can lead an elephant-ass to water but you can’t make-em drink.
I always send them correct information to them, even when I know they most likely will reject the truth because the truth was not they wanted. We, our, people of conciseness of any color or race, and religion know the facts, we know where we are in life, but they- Republicans and the Fox News TYPES DON’T KNOW THEIR ASS IS IN THE POOR HOUSE AND WHO PUT THEM THERE, but hey…by chance if you keep sending them the facts it’s the same liars who they voted for, you might get one to pull the head out of a hole.
Even though Fox News screams loud they are only talking to the same people who choose to be ignorant of facts and fall easy to being led by a corporation of elitist. Most Americans have figured out that is a circus show of easily proven lies.
What we have to be so-much more careful of and aware is WE CAN JADE OURSELVES WHEN WE PREACH TO THE CHOIR. The message we know need to get into the ears of the on fence swing voters and so called independents friends you might happen to have. Why, here is a lie easy to believe in for them. Black voters are the only reason Obama is the President….WRONG…. if not one Black person voted he still would have won…Fact
SEND THEM THE FACTS OFTEN:
Fact:
36 million Americans relied on food stamps. More than 24 million of them were white, 8 million were African American and 6 million were Hispanic of any race. Of the 46 million people living in poverty in America in 2010, the U.S. census revealed that 31 million were white.
Fact: there are only 35 million Black people and of the 8 million living in poverty 6 million are children.
Fact: That state Iowa is 96% white…let me repeat 96% white and has the one of the highest crimes rate percentage in America… will Fox News ever tell you that, I think not!
Fact:
Of the 49 million people without health insurance coverage, 37 million were white; 8 million were African American. Latinos of every race and Asian Americans represented the remaining largest ethnic groups.
Fact:
White Americans, poor and middle-class alike receive the vast majority of tax-funded government assistance programs, from monthly assistance to Social Security to food stamps.
Fact:
TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), the program that provides aid to single mothers, is the most well-known welfare program, but the truth is that Social Security and Medicare are also social welfare services, funded by tax dollars. To that end, nearly 70 percent of all benefits of these programs go to white people. In fact, since African Americans have lower life expectancy, many work and pay into the Social Security and Medicare programs through their tax dollars, only to have white Americans, who have a longer life expectancy, benefit from the income they’ve left behind.
Fact:
Child Poverty in Rural America,” reveals that 57 percent of rural poor children were white and 44 percent of all urban poor children were white.
And for the person who will doubt these facts out of denial of going to look them up themselves. These figures were taking under George Bush and Obama
Kind of funny when you think of it, the poor whites that hate Obama will follow Fox News and never hear this. Yet the same people they vote for are the one keeping them down…
Kind of funny, Black people are stereotyped for saying “The Man Is Keeping Me Down”, and several of the Repubs running for office has said Blacks are the Welfare users, and we look for a hand outs, but the truth is it the other way around.
Kind of Funny, those poor white folk lost many of their blue collar jobs because people like Mitt sold their companies and shut the door on them.
It will be more of the same race baiting this time around of stupid ignorance that will keep the liars out of office with simple minded … “I don’t know what Obama is and where he was born, and he has ties to terrorist, and he not American enough type of crap and that train of thought will keep him office because there is enough intelligent people of all races, and religions who will reject it as they did in 2008
Family Values Obama or Newt
For the people because I come from the people Obama or Mitt
Has Obama made some mistakes yes, but he has not started two wars and then didn’t pay for them and left America broke and Fox blames him for it. No need to answer unless you got the facts

Newt Gingrich claims that “more people have been put on food stamps by Barack Obama than any president in American history.” He’s wrong. More were added under Bush than under Obama, according to the most recent figures.

Catholic leaders tell Gingrich, Santorum ‘to stop perpetuating ugly racial stereotypes’
floridaindependent.com
Catholic leaders issued a letter Friday1/20/2012 to GOP presidential candidates Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, themselves Catholics, urging them to stop perpetuating ugly racial stereotypes on the campaign trail.
Thank you, Mr. Alvin L.A. Horn for this article
President Obama has picked another fight over tax breaks for the wealthy—this time to pay for his jobs plan. The White House said today that Obama will seek to end tax breaks over 10 years for oil and gas companies, hedge fund managers, and people making over $200,000, to fully fund the $447 billion plan. The White House is gambling that Republicans are willing to compromise after getting politically bruised in a budget battle this summer, the Wall Street Journalreports.
“This tax increase on job creators is the kind of proposal both parties have opposed in the past,” says a spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner, who added that “this proposal doesn’t appear to have been offered in that bipartisan spirit.” But the White House says Americans are okay with taxing oil and gas companies and hedge fund managers. White House press secretary Jay Carney denies that the tax plan would hurt growth, saying it is “spread out so that there aren’t negative impacts.”
The Chair of the Sumter South Carolina Tea Party posted — and then quickly pulled — a post on her Facebook page earlier this month that joked about throwing the Obamas out of a helicopter, reports TalkingPointsMemo.com. Shery Lanford Smith posted the joke on her Facebook page on August 11th. The page has since gone “private.” In the joke, the Obamas are on a helicopter talking about how they could make people happy if they threw money out the window. The pilot says: “I could throw both of them out of the window and make 256 million people very happy!” Smith added: “If you’re one of 256 million, PASS IT ON.” Smith reportedly pulled the joke after the Sumter Item contacted her about it.
“It’s just a joke,” she told the Item. “I had no idea it would be an issue.” The Sumter SC Tea Party’s page is now also defunct
SIDEBAR: Bytch please you knew exactly what you where doing and who you wanted to see it. Joke or funny my azz that is straight up bullshyt. How would she feel or the Tea Party members started to come up missing, would you find that as Facebook humour. Oops forgot your educated folks that know what your doing at all times!
This is my rant regarding Tavis Smiley and Cornell West so called friends
Whoa, it’s going down. And that’s putting it mildly with the situation between Tom Joyner and Tavis Smiley.
Simply put, Joyner, who served as co-host/MC, along with Angela Bassett at theMcDonalds365Black luncheon at the Essence Festival on Friday, is flat out saying that Tavis Smiley along with his “side-piece,” Cornel West is responsible for the climate that’s made it comfortable for Obama haters like Time magazine’s Mark Halperin to call President Obama a “dick.”
The reaction to Joyner’s commentary is bound to be “interesting” to say the least and it’ll be surprising if it doesn’t set off a firestorm of reactions in Black America and beyond.
My New D-Word for Tavis and Cornel
Before I get to Mark Halperin, let me give you a little background. They say that if you’re angry with someone, you should write a letter, get all the mean stuff out, and then tear it up or delete it. When you’re a little more calm, you write another letter or confront the person face to face.
About a month ago, I wrote a blog about Tavis Smiley and decided to table it because I said some things I didn’t want to publish. You’re probably thinking I went too hard him, but no. In reality, I hadn’t gone hard enough – and I knew it. I said I’d wait until something pissed me off so bad that I would have the words harsh enough to express what I was really feeling about him and his side piece – I mean side kick – Cornel West.
Well, yesterday, when Mark Halperin – a well-respected journalist, employed by a well-respected magazine and a contributor to a well-respected news network – had the audacity to call the president of the United States a dick, that was all I needed.
While I am appalled at Halperin’s statement, I have no expectations of him as a man and know nothing about his character. I am appalled, however, that as editor-at-large of Time magazine, he is responsible for among other things, deciding what stories will be covered in that publication. As the person in charge of political content, it is upsetting to know that he probably has not been objective in his dealings with material I and so many people look forward to (until now) reading each week. Needless to say, I’ve cancelled my subscription to Time magazine and hope you will too.
But I’m even more disgusted with Smiley and West, two brothers who I did have expectations of – and thought I knew. These two have done much worse than what Halperin has done because they set the tone for it, opened the door to it, and must take much of the blame for creating a climate that would make a white, professional journalist feel comfortable verbally and vulgarly attacking the first black president of the United States.
When you think you know a person, when you’ve given a person a forum to present his views, when you’ve had a hand in a person’s success, you want to believe that he is the same person he always was.
Remember THAT Tavis – the one who could take any complicated political story that had an impact on black America and “break it down” for us every Tuesday and Thursday in less than five minutes. The one who coined the phrase “radio advocacy” and alerted us any time anyone – from a private business owner to a politician to a corporate giant – even thought about doing black folks wrong. The Tavis that loved black people so much that he would sometimes, during his commentaries, be moved to tears. Where is that guy? You know, the guy that would have been telling me, “Fly Jock, Halperin has got to go.” For a while, I thought he was still with us, even though people around me (and many of you) tried to convince me otherwise. “Tavis is a hater.” “Tavis is only about himself.” “Tavis is jealous of the president.” I wouldn’t believe any of it. I had so much respect for him before his primary goal became selling books, and, later, selling out.
As we approach the Fourth of July weekend, one that celebrates our freedoms, including freedom of speech, I wish someone would use that as a defense of what Tavis, Cornel and Mark Halperin have said against our president. When dangerous words incite and brew up hatred and violence, there is a line. And these three crossed it.
In case you believe I think Tavis and Cornel called the president an offensive name, I don’t. I think they did something even worse. Any black people with any sense know that racists on the job, at school, at church or on the bus wait for opportunities to feel comfortable enough to spew their evil thoughts. If a black person tells a racist joke in front of a racist or laughs at one, it won’t be long before the racist begins to fire off a couple of his own. Mark Halperin and others are no different. They hate the president because he is black, and Tavis and Cornel, by not having the sense to not give them the opening they waited for, went all in. And this is what we get.
So, yes, MSNBC, fire Mark Halperin. I hope he never works again. I’ve already fired Tavis and Cornel. There’s nothing either can ever do for me or with me again.
I’ve got a new D-word for the two of them: Done.
Like we said, this is definitely a “Whoa!” moment. Based on the tone of the piece, one can only wonder if there’s something really personal coloring Tom’s comments as well. What do you think?

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Secret Service said Wednesday that three employees will leave their jobs over the sex scandal in a hotel in Colombia which tarnished the elite presidential protection agency’s image.
Two leading congressmen meanwhile revealed in a letter to Secret Service chief Mark Sullivan obtained by ABC News that agents accused of consorting with prostitutes may have been careless with “sensitive security information.”
Representatives Darrell Issa and Elijah Cummings also warned that the party hijinks in the Caribbean resort of Cartagena before President Barack Obama’s arrival last weekend brought the entire culture of the agency into question.
