It looks like Prince is gonna have to fork over some serious funds to a perfume company that’s holding him responsible for stifling their efforts to market a perfume name after his “3121? CD (see photo below).
The AP says a court referee recommended that approximately $3.95 million be awarded which would have to be confirmed by another judge.
Prince’s lawyer told the New York Law Journal the singer and songwriter will do what’s necessary to keep the suggested award from being confirmed.
Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania based Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics Inc. says it licensed Prince’s name and likeness along with the album title “3121? to market its fragrance in 2006. However, the company claims Prince broke his promise to help in the promotion of product after its July 2007 launch.
Does Prince have a problem with his ex-wife getting married to Singer Eric Benet? YES! At a recent west coast party, Prince had Eric Benet barred from attending because Prince was going to be there. He didn’t want to be in the company of his ex, Manuela Testolini, and her Fiancé Eric Benet. Prince and Manuela were married for five years. Benet is happy and in love with Manuela, and is proving there is life after Halle Berry. Prince is dating a classically trained Ballerina Misty Copeland. Friends figured he would be happy with his new love, but apparently Prince doesn’t want to be anywhere near his ex-wife and Eric Benet.
Prince’s playful moment with Kim Kardashian was completely lost on Howard Stern.
The radio jock ripped Prince for kicking her off the stage at Madison Square Garden after she wouldn’t dance.
“He seems to be an arrogant asshole lately,” Stern said, saying that he loves him as a performer but as a “human being” he’s a “scumbag.”
“The guy is just weird, he gives concerts with the lights out,” he laughed.
Stern said Prince was “f**ked in the head” and “humiliated” the reality show star.
The shock jock further defended Kardashian by saying: “She doesn’t know what to do. Apparently she’s supposed to dance like a stripper for him and she just stood there not knowing what to do. He throws her off the stage because she can’t read f**king Prince’s mind. He’s a bulls**t artist. I’m done with him.”
Some video clips showed that Prince brought several audience members on stage to dance before inviting Kardashian to join him. Whoopi Goldberg pointed out on “The View” that Prince told multiple women to “get off the stage” in a playful manner.
As previously reported, Kardashian tweeted after the concert: “Went up on stage AGAIN! This time I redeemed myself! We all danced while Prince played the piano! Wow! What a night!”
Prince is planning the tour of all tours. In December, he’ll be announcing the tour dates for his new venture, Welcome To America. This tour will feature The New Power Generation, Maceo Parker, Sheila E, Janelle Monae, Mint Condition, Cassandra Wilson, Lalah Hathaway, Graham Central Station, Esperanza Spalding. As soon as he announces the Philly area dates, we will let you know.
As if a concert by funk bassist extraordinaire Larry Graham wasn’t enough of an experience, music icon Prince surprised everyone at B.B. King’s Blues Club in NYC Wednesday night by taking the stage out of nowhere and jamming with Graham (original bassist of Sly & the Family Stone) and Graham Central Station.

Prince Must Pay Irish Promoter $3M for Cancelled Gig. A judge in Dublin has ordered Prince, 51, to pay $2.95 million to Irish concert promoters for canceling a 2008 concert at the last minute. High Court Justice Peter Kelly said Friday he was making the total damages public because Prince has yet to pay anything to Dublin promoters MCD Productions Ltd. in their confidential settlement reached Feb. 26, reports the Associated Press. Kelly ruled that Prince had signed a contract to play Dublin’s 82,300-seat Croke Park in June 2008, but pulled out without explanation just days beforehand, after 55,000 tickets were sold. Kelly said Friday his order was specifically against Prince, not his agents from the William Morris agency, who were absolved of liability. MCD, Ireland’s biggest concert organizers, said it had paid Prince half of his demanded $3 million fee up front, another $950,000 to book Croke Park for the night, advertised the concert aggressively and refunded all 55,000 tickets. During last month’s court hearing, William Morris agent Marc Geiger testified that he rarely spoke to Prince directly and found him one of his toughest clients to understand or nail down. Geiger said he told Prince of the fury that the singer was causing MCD owner Denis Desmond during a rare face-to-face meeting in Los Angeles on June 3, 2008. He quoted Prince as replying, “Tell the cat to chill. We will work something out.” Prince did not testify at last month’s hearing. If the Artist Formerly Known as a Symbol doesn’t pay up soon, MCD lawyer Maurice Collins said he may pursue the money using a more powerful European Enforcement Order. All of this follows news this week that Prince owes over $450,000 in state taxes to Minnesota.
Prince you got the money quit playing, and pay the man.
