This is about as clear and easy to understand as it can be. The article below is completely neutral, neither anti-republican or democrat. Charlie Reese, a retired reporter for the Orlando Sentinel, has hit the nail directly on the head, defining clearly who it is that in the final analysis must assume responsibility for the judgments made that impact each one of us every day. It’s a short but good read. Worth the time. Worth remembering!
545 vs. 300,000,000 People

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The President does.
You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The President can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.
The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House now? He is the leader of the majority party. He and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red.
If the Army & Marines are in Iraq and Afghanistan it’s because they want them in Iraq and Afghanistan …
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.
Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation,” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.
Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.
They, and they alone, have the power.
They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.
Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees…
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom, if agreed, stayed home to raise the kids.

Washington, D.C. received a wonderful treat as host of an empowering weekend for women. The third annual “Get Radical Conference” took place March 25 – 27, at the Renaissance Hotel, where nearly 500 women showed up from all over the country to hear a message of power from dynamic speakers.
The conference envisioned three years ago by Life Coach Doreen Rainey has taken shape quickly.
“When I decided to become a coach, and started working with my clients one on one and in small groups, I found myself saying, ‘You got to do something radical,’ ” Rainey explained. “And no matter what area of your life you’re in, you have to decide that I’m not only going to change but I’m going to change in a big way.”
That message obviously resonated with everyone in attendance as the energy throughout the conference between the women seemed electrifying.
“Radical is relative. So it doesn’t mean the same thing for every person, but that feeling you get when you feel,” she exhales, “‘This might be it!’ It’s the same. So after having coached my clients around how to get radical I wanted to take it to a bigger platform and I wanted to reach more people and I thought what better way to do that than to begin the conference and invite women from all across the country to hear incredible speakers share their tips and strategies of how to be your best and how to live your best life.”
The conference offered a bevy of powerful women that have lived through some of the most horrific things imaginable and have re-shaped their life to their best life and best self. Life Strategist Rhonda Britten who many may remember as the coach that orchestrated the apology between Kevin Federline and Shar Jackson on Celebrity Fit Club season 7, has seen hardship in the worst way.
Britten became an orphan at 14 when she witnessed her father kill her mother and then himself when she was only 14 years old. “It took me 20 years to get through that. Some may say that’s a long time,” she said. But, I assured her that certainly was not us. Her personal tragedy catapulted her into the life she lives today, re-shaping and strategizing the life of millions through her four bestsellers including the selection she used for the conference “Fearless Living.”
The list of speakers goes on with the most motivating women around today. Niecy Nash, formerly of the Style network’s Clean House, came and blew the roof off the place with her testimony and advice. Not only was she excited to be there, but her energy was infectious. She had the crowd laughing and saying their “Amens” the entire time she spoke. Her candid delivery about her journey as a single mother of three, having to return to her mother’s house with her children after her 16 year marriage ended in divorce, and back into the life she envisioned for herself was more of a ministry than a speech. Participants couldn’t wait to leap to their feet at the end of her talk.
It seems that the chairman and CEO of OneUnited, the bank at the center of the ethics investigation against Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), has a troubled past himself, reports the Washington Post.
Not only has Kevin L. Cohee reportedly been arrested twice on sexual-assault and drug charges-although he has denied the arrests-the federal government also issued a “cease and desist” order to the bank due to his supposed living allowance that allowed him to live in a mansion.
Cohee’s bank purchased or leased luxury real estate for him-including an $880,000 condominium in Miami and a $26,250-a-month mansion in Santa Monica owned by Bruce Springsteen’s drummer-and reportedly paid for his Porsche.
Cohee promoted the bank as a responsible investor in minority communities, which Waters then helped promote in her district. Waters has described herself as a “professional and social” friend of Cohee.
Obama Will Triumph — So Will America

Before he’d been in office one year President Obama lost the support
of the easily distracted left and engendered the white hot rage of
the hate-filled right. But some of us, from all walks of life and
ideological backgrounds — including this white, straight, 57-year-
old, former religious right wing agitator, now progressive writer
and (given my background as the son of a famous evangelical leader)
this unlikely Obama supporter — are sticking with our President.
Why? Because he’s shown he will succeed by slow, calm and steady…staying the course.
We faithful Obama supporters still trust our initial impression of
him as a great, good and uniquely qualified leader.
Obama’s loyal supporters will be proven right. Obama’s critics
will be remembered as easily panicked and prematurely discouraged
at best and shriveled hate mongers at worst.
The Context of the Obama Presidency:
Not since the rise of fascism in Europe, the Second
World War and the Depression has any president faced more
adversity. Not since the Civil War has any president led a more
bitterly divided country. Not since the introduction of racial
integration has any president faced a more consistently short-
sighted and willfully ignorant opposition — from both the right
and left.
As the President’s poll numbers have fallen so has his support from
some on the left who hailed him as a Messiah not long ago;
those lefty web sites and commentators that were falling over
themselves on behalf of our first black president during the
2008 election.
The left’s lack of faith has become a self-fulfilling “prophecy”–
snipe at the President and then watch the poll numbers fall and
then pretend you didn’t have anything to do with it!
Here is what Obama faced when he took office– none of which was
his fault:
# An ideologically divided country, to the point America is really two countries
# Two wars; one mishandled from the start, the other unnecessary and immoral
# The worst economic crisis since the depression
# America’s standing in the world at its lowest point in history
# A country misled into accepting the use of torture on prisoners of war
# A health care system in free fall
# An educational system in free fall
# A global environmental crisis of history-altering proportions
(about which the Bush/Cheney administration and Republicans had done
nothing)
# An impasse between culture warriors from the right and left
# A huge financial deficit inherited from the terminally
irresponsible Bush administration.
And these were just some of the problems left for Obama to deal with
when he came into office!
“Help” from the Right?
What did Republicans and the religious right, libertarians and
half-baked conspiracy theorists (what Republicans
were reduced to by the time Obama took office) do to “help” our
new president (and our country) succeed? They claimed he
wasn’t a real American, didn’t have an American birth certificate,
wasn’t born here, was secretly a Muslim, was white-hating “racist”,
was a secret communist, was the Anti-Christ, was the reincarnation
of Hitler and wanted “death panels” to kill the elderly!
They called for his assassination through the not-so-
subtle use of signs held up at rallies and even a bumper
sticker quoting Psalm 109:8. They organized “tea parties” to sound
off against imagined insults and government in general. They
gathered to howl at the moon. They were led by insurance industry
lobbyists and deranged (but well-financed) “commentators” from
Glenn Beck to Rush Limbaugh.
Utterly discredited Roman Catholic bishops teamed up with
utterly discredited evangelical leaders to denounce a president who
was trying to improve conditions for the poor, the environment, to
diminish the number of abortions through compassionate programs
to help women and to care for the sick! But in Congress the Republican leadership knew only one word: “No!”
In other words the reactionary white, uneducated, crazy far
right, combined with educated neoconservative war mongers, religious
right big business shills, libertarian Fed Reserve-hating gold bugs,
gun-toting crazies, child-molesting acquiescent “bishops”, frontier loons
and evangelical gay-hating flakes…they all found one thing to agree on
and rally around: their desire to stop a Black man from succeeding
at all costs!
“Help” from the Left?
What did the left do to help their newly elected president? Some of
them blasted the President because they disagreed with the bad
choices he was being forced to make regarding a war in Afghanistan.
Choices he’d inherited from the worst president in U.S. history!
Others stood up to proclaim the President’s economic policies
“failed” before the President even instituted them! Others said
since not all gay rights battles had not been won, they’d been
“betrayed”! (Never mind Obama’s support of the gay community is
stronger than any American President in history.
Never mind that he signed new laws against hate crimes!)
Those who stood weeping with beatific emotion on election night 2008
turned into an angry mob, declaring their “disappointment” the world
didn’t change the moment Obama took the oath of office!
And the legion of young new voters was too busy texting to pay
attention to how the media was making President Obama look like
Hitler or Evil incarnate.
The President’s critics, left and right, had one thing in common:
impatience laced with no sense of history (let alone reality).
Then of course there were the snide, white, know-it-all commentators
and talking heads who just can’t imagine that maybe, just maybe they
aren’t as smart as they thought they were and certainly not as smart
as a Black President. He hadn’t consulted them so he must be wrong!
The ideological ideas of Obama critics’ defined their idea of reality
rather than reality defining their ideas. Meanwhile back in the reality-
based community – in just 12 short months — President Obama scored
victories that went unreported on the evening news:
#Continued to wind down the misbegotten war in Iraq (But that wasn’t good enough for his critics)
#Thoughtfully and decisively picked the best of several bad choices
regarding the war in Afghanistan (But that wasn’t good enough for his critics)
#Gave a major precedent-setting speech supporting gay rights
(But that wasn’t good enough for his critics)
#Restored America’s image around the globe (But that wasn’t good enough for his critics)
#Banned torture of American prisoners (But that wasn’t good enough for his critics)
#Stopped the free fall of the American economy (But that wasn’t good enough for his critics)
#Put the USA squarely back in the bilateral international community
(But that wasn’t good enough for his critics)
#Put the USA squarely into the middle of the international effort
to halt global warming (But that wasn’t good enough for his critics)
#Stood up for educational reform (No, that wasn’t good enough for his critics)
#Won a Nobel Peace Prize (Not even that was good enough for his critics, who lambasted him for the honor)
#Moved the trial of terrorists back into the American judicial
system of checks and balances (But that wasn’t good enough for his critics)
#Did what he’d promised to do to start the slow, torturous and almost
impossible process of health care reform that 7 presidents had
failed to even touch (But that wasn’t good enough for his critics)
#Responded to hatred from the right and left with measured good
humor and patience (not good enough for his critics)
#Stopped the free fall of job losses (Not even that was good enough for his critics)
#Showed immense personal courage in the face of an armed,
dangerous far right opposition that included people who showed up at
public meetings carrying loaded weapons and carrying Timothy McVeigh-inspired signs about the “blood of tyrants” needing to “water the tree of liberty”. (That got no praise from his critics)
#Showed that he could not only make tough military choices but
explain and defend them brilliantly (Not even that was good enough for his critics)
Are these what you would call “disappointing” accomplishments — IN ONE YEAR! I think not.
Who has actually failed are Americans who can’t see the beginning of a miracle, right under their noses. Who failed are the ideologues of the
left and right who began hoping this President would fail so they could be proven correct in their dire and morbid predictions.
Who failed are the movers and shakers behind our obscenely dumb news cycles who have turned “news” into more stupid entertainment for an entertainment-besotted, gossip crazed society.
But here’s the good news: President Obama is succeeding without the
help of his “supporters” on the left and despite his hate-filled Republican detractors on the right!
The Future Looks Good
After Obama has served two full terms (and he will), after his
wisdom in moving deliberately and cautiously with great subtlety on
all fronts — with a uncanny and calculating eye to achieving success (and he will), after the economy is booming and new industries
are burgeoning (and they will), after the naysayers are proved
wrong: let the record show that not all Americans panicked and jumped
ship at the first sign of a storm.
Just because we didn’t get everything we wanted in the health care
bill, and his first year in office…not all of us are giving up! Some of
us are staying the course. And we will be proved right.
PS. if you agree that Obama is shaping up to be a great president,
please pass this on and hang in there! Pass it on anyway to ensure
that his “report card” gets the attention it deserves.

Bush Wipes Hand on Clinton After Touching Haitians? George “damn damn damn” Bush just cannot get it right. He is so crazy that even after he leaves the White House he can’t stop making a fool of himself. It appears that on his own time, he’s even more ridiculous. During relief efforts in Haiti where they shook the people’s hands and offered some sense of hope, he turns to Clinton and what looks like a tap to say, “Okay man, we’ve done what we’re going to do here, let’s go!” Turns into a swipe all the way down Clinton’s arm. If he has to speak on it, he’ll probably say, “It was just a joke man! Someone’s hand was a little too sweaty or something, so I gave Clinton the ‘dirt’ touch. Get it? Like the poot touch? Awww, forget you if you can’t take a joke.” He just seems to be this kind of dummy to me
Uh Oh. Health Care Reform Bill Hits Snag. Back to the House. The remake of the nation’s health-care system has hit a parliamentary snag in the Senate, and appears likely to be headed back to the House for one final vote before becoming law, a spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said. The legislation makes a handful of changes to the sweeping health bill signed into law by Mr. Obama on Tuesday, including bolstering government subsidies to help individuals purchase health insurance and closing a politically unpopular gap in prescription drug coverage under Medicare, the health insurance for seniors. Reid spokesman Jim Manley said Republicans have found two “minor” provisions in the bill that are likely to be subject to procedural challenges on the floor, and ultimately struck from the legislation. If successful as expected, the Republican challenges would modify the bill, requiring it to be sent back to the House for consideration again.
House Dems Seek Extra Security Amid Health Care Protests.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said Wednesday that at least 10 of his Democratic colleagues feel that they are at risk of harm for voting in favor of the new health care bill and have sought extra police protection. Also, the Maryland Democrat hinted Wednesday that Republicans should do more to condemn these threats of violence. “I would hope that we would join together jointly and make it very clear that none of us condone this kind of activity,” Hoyer told reporters. [Watch video below.] “And when we see it, we speak out strongly in opposition to it. And I would hope that we would do that going forward.” Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.), the majority whip, said Democrats and Republicans should continue to speak out on these threats. “Silence gives consent,” Clyburn said. However, Minority Leader John Boehner has already condemned threats of violence — and sought to explain why people are so angry. “I know many Americans are angry over this health care bill, and that Washington Democrats just aren’t listening,” the Republican stated. “But, as I’ve said, violence and threats are unacceptable. That’s not the American way. We need to take that anger and channel it into positive change. Call your congressman, go out and register people to vote, go volunteer on a political campaign, make your voice heard — but let’s do it the right way.”
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Capitol Police and sergeant at arms briefed Democrats behind closed doors today about the incidents of violence — the most high profile of which have been toward Democratic Reps. Thomas Perriello of Virginia, Steve Driehaus of Ohio and Louise Slaughter of New York. On Wednesday, the FBI began a preliminary investigation into fuel lines cut at the Virginia home of Perriello’s brother, whose address was posted online. A tea party participant published on a right-leaning blog what he thought was Rep. Perriello’s home address and urged disgruntled voters to “drop by” for a “good face-to-face chat.” Vandals broke windows at Slaughter’s office in New York and Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’s office in Arizona. Slaughter, a Democrat who chairs the House Rules Committee, said a caller to her office last week vowed to send snipers to “kill the children of the members who voted yes.” Her office reported the call to police, who were dispatched to provide protection for Slaughter’s grandchildren. She has also been in touch with the FBI and U.S. Postal Service inspectors, who intercepted a letter en route to her home in upstate New York. Sen. Bart Stupak, the Michigan Democrat whose last-minute compromise on abortion guaranteed passage of the bill Sunday, said callers have left messages for him saying, “You’re dead; we know where you live; we’ll get you.” And angry voters are planning to protest this weekend at the home of Steve Driehaus — who’s already seen a photograph of his children used in a newspaper ad published by reform opponents.
The group called the Committee to Rethink Reform used a photo of him and his two young daughters in an ad urging him to vote against any health care reform bill that included federal funding for abortion. Both the group and the newspaper — the Cincinnati Enquirer — apologized for including Driehaus’s daughters in the ad. Fellow Ohio congressman Boehner, who warned that anti-abortion Democrats would suffer politically if they voted for the health care bill, singled out Driehaus, saying he “may be a dead man” and “can’t go home to the west side of Cincinnati” because “the Catholics will run him out of town.” “Mr. Boehner made comments about me and my predicament when I go home which I felt were wildly out of bounds for his position and very irresponsible, quite frankly. He’s from next door. That’s not helpful. That’s irresponsible,” Driehaus said.
Meanwhile, Sarah Palin posted a map on her Facebook page that shows the 20 districts represented by House Democrats who voted for health care reform – each marked by a bulls eye image. In her Twitter posting directing followers to the page, she stated: “Commonsense “Conservatives & lovers of America: “Don’t Retreat, Instead – RELOAD!” African American political activist organization Color of Change is also calling on readers to stand up against the Tea Party-led attacks by “confronting Republican leadership and forcing them to take responsibility for the atmosphere they’ve helped create.”
Almost daily we see-read, and watch insulting false-incorrect spermicidal information flowing out of mouths of Republicans and the Fox News types. We send that info to each other and post the shocking lies in disbelief them – Republicans and the Fox News types that blatantly say what they say.
When also see the posted fact checks, such as who is really on welfare and who really the welfare president, Mr. George Bush was.
We know who really increased the debt, and increased taxes, three times more than any other president that would be Mr. Ronald Reagan. For the record Obama has raised it the least.
We know eight years of Bush policies all the way up to him leaving office in January of 2009 caused the loss of two million jobs. Please somebody tell Newt to stop saying Obama lost two millions jobs. Fact under Obama in 2009- 2010 only 300,000 jobs were lost, but it open to debate did Obama or did Bush residue cause those jobs to go away. Fact unemployment is back at 8% and going under from a high of 10% This is coming from a man who lost his job too, and still looking …hey in-box me if you need me…
Not many News service will call-out the lies the Republican machine will roll out, and they will say when caught in a lie … “Oh that’s not what I meant.”, but wait here is what we need to do … send facts to those conservative Republicans and Fox News types, on the fence swing voters and so called independents friends you might happen to have.
I know there is the worry you’ll end up debating someone who would rather eat his or her own boggers than submit to the facts. Well no you don’t have to, just send them the facts and then act like they do, ignore them. You can lead an elephant-ass to water but you can’t make-em drink.
I always send them correct information to them, even when I know they most likely will reject the truth because the truth was not they wanted. We, our, people of conciseness of any color or race, and religion know the facts, we know where we are in life, but they- Republicans and the Fox News TYPES DON’T KNOW THEIR ASS IS IN THE POOR HOUSE AND WHO PUT THEM THERE, but hey…by chance if you keep sending them the facts it’s the same liars who they voted for, you might get one to pull the head out of a hole.
Even though Fox News screams loud they are only talking to the same people who choose to be ignorant of facts and fall easy to being led by a corporation of elitist. Most Americans have figured out that is a circus show of easily proven lies.
What we have to be so-much more careful of and aware is WE CAN JADE OURSELVES WHEN WE PREACH TO THE CHOIR. The message we know need to get into the ears of the on fence swing voters and so called independents friends you might happen to have. Why, here is a lie easy to believe in for them. Black voters are the only reason Obama is the President….WRONG…. if not one Black person voted he still would have won…Fact

36 million Americans relied on food stamps. More than 24 million of them were white, 8 million were African American and 6 million were Hispanic of any race. Of the 46 million people living in poverty in America in 2010, the U.S. census revealed that 31 million were white.
