Looks like more problems for Whitney Houston and her European tour. Houston can no longer hit the high notes. At a recent show in London, she blamed her throat problems on the air conditioning system. Houston apologized to the audience, but many did not want to hear it. Hundreds walked out of the stadium complaining about her performance, the long breaks and the backup singers doing most of the singing. Years of drug abuse have taken their toll on one of the world’s greatest singers. Whitney has no other source of income, so she’s forced to continue with the tour. Houston did not write or produce any of her own music. She may be forced to write a tell-all book to raise money.
Whitney Houston Woes Continue at London’s O2. Here we go again. In a headline appearing this morning in London’s Daily Mail, Whitney Houston was referred to as “bloated, bedraggled and out of tune” on the latest stop of her troubled “Nothing But Love” world tour. Some 20,000 fans showed up at London’s O2 arena last night and greeted the diva with wild cheers, according to the newspaper. But, “once again the voice that had left her contemporaries reeling in its wake, was a former shadow of what it used to be,” wrote reviewer Georgina Littlejohn. The review continued: After stumbling half-heartedly through her signature song “I Will Always Love You,” Houston, who has suffered her fair share of drug problems in the past, said: “She don’t want to come, my soprano friend.” She added: “Sometimes the old girl sings, but not tonight. I want to do it, but she doesn’t want to. … She’s getting a little … temperamental, even.” She struggled further with another of her classic songs, this time cutting short “Greatest Love Of All,” only managing to pull of a couple of verses. And during much of the set she paused and panted for breath between songs while her backing singers did a great job of carrying her with their melodies. Her outfit also left a bit to be desired. She came on stage in tight leather trousers, a sequinned jacket that struggled to fasten at her middle and a bloated face. Whitney did manage to stay on stage for the majority of the two-hour gig, her first of three at the Docklands venue. But fans were still unhappy, with some even demanding their money back.
Report Claims Whitney Snorted Coke Last Month. You knew this was coming. In Touch magazine is the first to allege that a drug relapse is the real reason behind Whitney Houston’s tour postponements in Europe this week. The publication is quoting a source who claims he witnessed the songstress sneaking a snort of cocaine last month at a Los Angeles hotel, just weeks before the start of her European tour that has since been postponed. Below is the In Touch press release: In Touch can reveal shocking claims from onlookers at the Beverly Wilshire hotel in LA who were surprised on March 10 when the singer walked into the bar, appearing disheveled and out of it. According to eyewitness Marlon David, Whitney was with her ex-husband, Bobby Brown, and she seemed oblivious to who might be watching when she began screaming, “I want a f***in’ drink!” followed by expletives. While Whitney’s rep vehemently denies that she’s using drugs, David, who was sitting just a table away from Whitney and Bobby, tells In Touch exclusively: “I saw her pull a plastic bag out, put a folded bill to her nose and discreetly snort a line from it of what to me certainly looked like cocaine. She’s extremely thin and looks like a disaster. She’s a hot mess.” As previously reported, Houston has cancelled several dates on her European tour due to a respiratory infection.
Whitney’s Response to Drug Use Report: ‘Ridiculous’. Singer Whitney Houston was released from a Paris hospital on Wednesday after suffering a respiratory infection and she called media reports that she was using drugs again “ridiculous.” After being hospitalized in Paris on Tuesday under doctor’s orders, Houston told People magazine she is looking forward to returning to the stage after postponing several dates on the European leg of her concert tour. “I’m feeling great,” she said. “I’m just ready to move on and continue my world tour.” Houston, 46, is expected to retake the stage on April 13 in Birmingham, England, and continue touring through June. “My health is terrific, but this is a time when I get a lot of allergies,” she told People.
Whitney Houston Tour has Fans Asking for Refunds. There have been multiple reports in the past week calling Whitney Houston’s overseas tour performances a complete disaster and that she’s been asked to postpone some dates due to her “fragile condition.” The latest complaints come from Australian fans, who apparently watched as the diva flubbed her way through a concert in Brisbane on Monday night. Popeater is reporting that the 46-year-old “took a break after just two songs, brought her brother onstage to hit her high notes and slurped from a water bottle through a closing performance of ‘I Will Always Love You.’” One concertgoer told the press outside: “She couldn’t entertain a dead rat.” Monday’s performance at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre was the first of several Australian stops on Houston’s “Nothing But Love” comeback tour. On Tuesday (Feb. 23), concert promoter Andrew McManus defended the singer against the many ticket purchasers calling for a refund. “It was not a train wreck,” McManus told Agence France-Presse of Houston’s performance. “She was hitting most of the notes; yes, her throat was a little croaky. Her health is fine, but she’s also not 22 years of age anymore.” According to concert reviews cited by the AFP, Houston also appeared disoriented during the show, relied heavily upon backup singers and struggled to remember the names of her band members. “This show was like watching a slow and painful death of a living legend,” a Courier-Mail reader wrote in. Last week, a rep for Whitney Houston denied rumors that the “Million Dollar Bill” singer is in ill health following poor performances in Japan. According to the National Enquirer, Houston was urged to postpone upcoming live dates “after a string of health problems in recent months.” But her spokesperson called the article “rubbish” and “ridiculous.” In fact, she has added three more dates to her upcoming U.K. leg, which kicks off in Manchester on April 8.
Whitney Houston has suffered another setback in her ongoing tour of Australia — fans walked out of her show in Sydney on Wednesday night after the singer’s voice began to fail.
The “I Will Always Love You” hit maker was previously accused of putting on a lackluster performance in Brisbane on Monday, reportedly coughing through her set and taking breaks to catch her breath.
Promoters behind the concert defended Houston’s performance, and brushed off fears the star is in poor health.
But concerns for the singer were raised again on Wednesday following her show at the Acer Arena.

One fan, Shane Norquay, tells the paper, “Some of it’s been beautiful and some it is just horrible. It feels like she’s trying to be herself but it’s not working.”
Bernadette Latta, whose son bought her the tickets as a Christmas gift, adds, “It’s terrible. I have never walked out before a concert finished but that was just terrible. I’ll be suggesting my son tries to get a refund.”

Houston! We’ve Got A Problem! Whitney Houston has resumed her European tour, but she can’t hit the high notes…. and it’s embarrassing! She looks haggard, and she sweats profusely while performing. According to Houston, despite battling an upper respiratory infection, she is in good health. This tour has turned into a disaster. She needs money because she never wrote or produced her own music. Right now, the only way she can make money is by touring. Now she could write a book, but there’s the question: will she tell the truth? Will it be an honest book about her life with Bobby Brown and the years of drug abuse?
Ash Cloud Forces Whitney Tour into Ferry Boat. Turns out neither bad reviews, nor a respiratory infection, nor a volcanic ash cloud can stop Whitney Houston from keeping dates on her European tour. The singer was forced to take a ferry from Britain to Ireland, after the ash from a volcanic eruption in Iceland continued to spread across northern Europe for a second day, grounding all flights in the area and disrupting air travel around the world. The 46-year-old pop diva, who performed in Britain this week as part of her Nothing But Love tour, took a car ferry across the Irish Sea to Dublin where she is to play three concerts beginning Saturday night. “When Whitney was made aware of the airport closures due to the volcanic ash, she made the decision to drive from Birmingham to Dublin via the ferry so that she would not disappoint her Irish fans,” her promotion company said. “She is delighted to be in Ireland and is very much looking forward to performing.” A spokeswoman for Stenaline said the ferry firm received a booking for Houston and her entourage for the three-hour trip on board the “Nordica” superferry across to Dublin. Houston arrived in London last week from France, where she was forced to pull out of a concert after being hospitalized in the French capital with a respiratory infection. Video clips from her performances show that Houston continues to struggle with her vocals, to put it nicely.
